01 PROJECT OVERVIEW

Coming up with the original idea

The fishing trip can be a source of joy, a sense of personal achievement and healthy food. However, planning can be a complicated and time-consuming process. On one hand, the participant must know what kind of fish he/she can catch, when and how, with licencing and regulations being a very important part of this process. On the other hand, the right accommodation, boat and equipment play a major role in achieving the goals. Also, sometimes real-life experiences, tips and reviews help to avoid serious mistakes. Without one portal bringing all this information together with the ability to create a custom search, complete the booking on the spot and communicate with other people, the process can be long, painful and lonely.

A user flow chart is a tool that maps out paths our users will take when navigating through the App to achieve a certain goal.

The Dream Catch chart demonstrates the way users will log in or create a new account, plan the trip based on geographical area or desirable catch, book accommodation and share personal experiences and tips.

02 USER FLOW

A low-fidelity prototype was created using a pen and paper for easy iterations and changes. User interviews were conducted to prove the concept.

The next step was to create a mid-fidelity prototype in Figma. Maze was used to run a usability test before moving on with the design.

03 Low & mid fidelity Design

Once the user feedback from the mid-fi prototype was analyzed, the minor changes were made mostly related to placement of headings, buttons, button labels, and navigation elements.

The Style Guide and Components were created to keep the design consistent. From there, the mid-fi prototype was filled with color, text, and photos to bring the final design to life.

04 high fidelity Design

The last step was to create a full-functioning prototype.

After presenting the App to various people, the feedback showed that the project was indeed both informative and visually appealing. All the fishing enthusiasts expressed their willingless to use the App. The concept can be extendable to other areas like hunting and boating.
